Ytybrass

Brassmusic is a vital part of Family Laiho's life.
All play some instruments - mother plays piano.

Matti Laiho - with the tuba - leads the band, composes and
arranges the peaces for the sextet called Ytybrass.

In 1993 Väinö Laiho founded the brassband Ytybrass.

 Ytybrass one week before leaving to Haapsalu Estonia
Matti Laiho had composed a march to the city of Haapsalu
in Estonia in February 1993. Matti was invited to present his composes
at the cultural festifal of Valge Dam in August 1993 in Haapsalu.
So - the first export tour of Matti Laiho's music took place in Estonia.

In 1996 Ytybrass performed in the commercial morning TV playing
for instance Matti's "Wedding march". The band looked like:


Anna-Maija and Matti Laiho - in the front - study music in Sibelius Academy.
Ytybrass has organized since 1995 "Valentine-day concert". Matti's collaques
in the Academy played the concert in Pöytyä in February 2002. Flowers for the artists:

Matti Laiho composes a series of bass arias for the famous Finnish bass singer
Johann Tilli. The first aria " Iesu verba de grano sinapis" was presented in
Lieksa brass festifal in 1996.

Two interesting new arias had their first performance.
The most interesting was the one at Wergilius' text EARLY IN SPRING.
